MABE accepts applicants who graduated with a Bachelor Degree in any field.
Detail on an admission procedure will be announced by MABE committees.
The application period for MABE normally begins in February and ends in May of each year and the first semester will begin in August of the same year.
To apply for MABE, applicants must complete TWO steps!!
- Register with The Graduate School, Chulalongkorn University:
- Visit https://www.register.gradchula.com
- Create a new account and fill in the form.

- Submit Required Documents to MABE Application Form:
- During the application period, submit all necessary documents through the MABE application form here.
- There are two sections in the MABE application form. Fill out your personal information in section 1. Once you finish, click NEXT to proceed to section 2 where you can upload your application documents.
*Complete both steps to ensure a successful application.
Admission Criteria
1. Complete a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any major from an accredited university. For those applicants who complete a two-year Bachelor’s degree using a Diploma degree or its equivalent, ones need to submit a Diploma degree Transcript along with the application form.
2. English Proficiency Test. MABE requires that such an English proficiency test must be taken within 2 years prior to the announcement of the final results (of eligible applicants).

- 2.2 Applicants who do not have the qualifications as indicated in 2.1 must take one of the following English proficiency tests, TOEFL, IELTS or CU- TEP with the following conditions; MABE requires a minimum score as follows:

- Applicants for a Non-Thesis option must have at least 1 year working/ training experience.
4. All qualified applicants must sit for an interview.

Required documents for application

Note: the application number required for filling in the MABE application form is located in the top left corner of the registration results obtained from the Graduate School during the first step (ex. 4322-XXXX or 4323-XXXX). - Copy of ID card (for Thai) / Copy of Passport (for Foreigner).
- Copy of an official transcript from the previous university or college.
- Copy of degree certificate.
- CV / Current resume.
- Two letters of recommendation from referees:
- An applicant can either use the MABE recommendation form or have your referees write their own letters.
- Submission options:
- Applicants can include the letters of recommendation in the MABE application form.
- Referees can send the recommendation letter directly to MABE’s email: mabe@chula.ac.th and please kindly instruct referees mention the applicant’s name in their email.
- Sealed Letter: Kindly send the sealed letter to the MABE office using express delivery services. Additionally, please make sure to include a note in the online application form confirming that you have sent it via express delivery.
- Two one-inch sized photos (no later than six months).
- Scores of TOEFL, Academic IELTS or CU-TEP.
- Application fee 1,000 Thai Baht. [how to pay]
- Copy of a result of registration at the Graduate School, Chulalongkorn University. [how to register]
- Certificate of employment for non-thesis applicants (optional).
If the transcript is incomplete (you have not yet graduated), just send us the latest transcript issued by the university and promptly send the complete transcript (indicating that you already graduated) to MABE after you receive it before the end of July.

Additional Important Information
- Applicants can submit the application form and all supporting documents in person at the MABE office, 5th floor Room 508/2 Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University (Monday-Friday during 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.) or online through the website.
- The details of the interview will be given on a MABE website before the actual interview date. Make sure to check such a detail prior to an interview.
- The final result will be announced at the Faculty of Economics’ entrance (ground floor) and MABE Website.
- Applicants accepted by MABE must participate in an MABE first meeting on June 5, 2024. Additional detail will be announced on MABE website.
Intensive Course
The intensive courses are offered every year from July through June. Students with no undergraduate preparation in economics will need to attend the intensive courses in the area of prerequisites prior to the first semester. In addition, students are required to have successfully completed a college-level course in calculus with a grade of B or better or a non-credit mathematics course offered in the intensive courses. The 60-hour intensive courses provide basics for students on the following subjects: Mathematics, Statistics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Accounting.
