ESG integration in Thailand's biofuel sector: a case study of a Thai bio ethanol company

With the increasing global focus on sustainable development and climate change, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) has become an important direction for corporate strategic transformation. As a country rich in agricultural resources, Thailand has been actively promoting clean energy and the circular economy in recent years to reduce its dependence on fossil energy. In this context, the bioethanol industry has begun to be regarded as a key link in the energy transition, and has also become an important research object for measuring corporate sustainability. However, how to effectively integrate ESG concepts into corporate operations still faces multidimensional challenges such as governance structure, social engagement, and environmental performance. This study focuses on a leading producer of cassava ethanol and related renewable products in Thailand, and focuses on the practical paths and realities of ESG integration in Thailand's biofuel industry, with the aim of providing useful insights for Thai biofuel companies to cope with the process of sustainable transformation and realize the goal of circular economy.
